Due to Apple’s heightened security and privacy measures, macOS requires additional steps to allow remote support and management (RMM).

When installing the LogMeIn application, you should see the below once the app is installed. Click the “Start Process” button and this will guide you through allowing access.

The above should automatically prompt you to open System Preferences and allow various features to be enabled. But if you experience issues with this process or prefer to do it manually:

  1. In the top left corner of the desktop click the Apple icon
  2. Select System Preferences and then Privacy & Security
  3. In the list under ‘Privacy’, find and select:
    1. Accessbility And ensure the following are enabled (you may see one or both of the below, enable all that are present):
      • LMIGUIAgent
      • LogMeIn
    2. Microphone And ensure the following are enabled (you may see one or both of the below, enable all that are present):

      • LogMeIn

If you are prompted to allow access to the application as per this message, it is safe to click Allow. This is part of the installation process. Your screen and audio are only accessible when someone is remotely connected to your device and actively assisting you. You will be shown notification if and when this is the case.

Note that on older versions of macOS, you will also need to enable the same items under Input Monitoring and Screen Recording. If you don’t see these options in the list under ‘Privacy’ then these can be ignored.
