If you’re having trouble accessing websites or systems, follow these steps:
Step 1: Check if you’re connected
- Look at the bottom-right corner of your screen (taskbar)
- Check for these network icons:
- 🌐 = Not connected to the internet
- ⚠️ = Issue with connection / can’t connect to the internet
- Click the icon to confirm you’re connected to WiFi or wired network
- If the internet shows as connected but is not working, go to Step 3.
Step 2: Check your internet or VPN connection
- Try opening a website like Google
- If it doesn’t load:
- Disconnect and reconnect your WiFi (Step 3)
- If your work uses a VPN:
- Check if the VPN is connected
- If connected, try disconnecting and test if internet works without the VPN connected
Step 3: Toggle WiFi off and on
- Click the network icon in the taskbar
- Turn WiFi off
- Wait 10 seconds
- Turn WiFi back on
- Reconnect to your network
Step 4: Restart PC
- Restart your computer
- If sill not working, try another device on the same network to check if it’s a wider issue
