If your laptop fails to start or wake up, you can try performing a hard reset. This can solve lots of minor problems with power and booting up.
- Turn off your laptop by pressing and holding the physical power button until the screen goes blank and the power light goes off.
- Disconnect everything from your laptop including additional monitors, the power cable, external devices such as mouse, keyboard, printer, USB drives, USB sticks, etc.
- Press and hold the physical power button again for 30 seconds.
- Don’t reconnect anything yet – try to turn your laptop on again as usual. If there’s no battery power or the battery isn’t working, connect the power cable and try again.
